Collaborative Action Plan
A regional plan to strengthen climate and disaster resilience across the Campaspe region.
Work funded by the Australian Government
The Climate Partnerships project received funding from the Australian Government.
About the partnership
The Campaspe Climate Partnership brings together community service and health organisations, Council and other local organisations to strengthen how communities prepare for, respond to and recover from climate and disaster impacts.
The Collaborative Action Plan is the result of more than two years of cross-sector work across the region. It reflects shared experience, local knowledge and a clear understanding of where systems are working and where they’re not.
The plan focuses on practical actions to improve co-ordination between services and better support communities before, during and after disasters.
Why this matters
Communities across the Campaspe region are already experiencing the impacts of climate change, including floods, bushfires and extreme heat.
These events don’t just cause immediate damage. They create ongoing challenges for individuals, families and communities.
- Housing stress and displacement.
- Financial hardship and debt.
- Increased risk of family violence.
- Delays and disputes with insurance.
Project partners and ARC Justice’s role
Led by the Centre for Just Places at Jesuit Social Services, ARC Justice is delivering the Climate Partnership project in Campaspe, with Eastern Community Legal Centre delivering the project in the Yarra Ranges. The Federation of Community Legal Centres has supported the project through knowledge translation across state and nationwide community legal centres.
ARC Justice’s role has been to bring a legal and rights-based perspective into disaster planning, grounded in what the organisation sees working directly with people across central and northern Victoria.
This includes understanding how disasters intersect with issues like housing, debt, family violence and access to services.
Watch the launch
The plan was launched online by the Victorian Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Action and Emergency Services, the Hon. Sheena Watt MP, on March 26, 2026.
