In 2002, the Emergency Accommodation and Support Enterprise (also known as EASE, forerunner to the Centre for Non-Violence) release their report Through Women’s Eyes: Police and Family Violence. This report, funded by the Reichstein Foundation, identified the urgent need for a community legal service in the Loddon region to advocate for the rights of women and for legal system reform. Margaret Augerinos began advocating for the establishment of a Community Legal Centre in Bendigo.
