In 2016, GVCLC partnered with Rumbalara to establish a dedicated legal service for the local Aboriginal community in Shepparton/Mooroopna. The Rumbalara HJP provides therapeutic legal support to clients within a culturally safe environment, where clients also have access to Rumbalara’s health and community services. The project was initially funded by Victoria Legal Aid’s Innovations and Transformations Fund. Since its establishment, the Rumbalara HJP has grown from one to two full-time solicitors supporting the community.
